Police are looking for a single suspect who tried to steal from two different locations on the same night.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the first incident took place at Annie's Market on the Middle Road in Sidney. Police found that the front door had been smashed in and a bullet had been shot through it. No one entered the building, however a couple thousand dollars' worth of property was damaged. The intruder, who was caught on surveillance video, had parked his car behind a dumpster at around 10:30. He can be seen wearing a dark trench coat, jeans, and a skull face mask. The vehicle is believed to be either a Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, or Nissan Altima and appeared to be blue in color.

About an hour after the attempted burglary in Sidney, the same man tried to rob someone at Mac's Citgo in Oakland. Surveillance video shows the suspect approaching a man who was trying to fix his tire in the store's parking lot. The suspect points a gun at the man and demands money. When he was refused, he left in the car, heading toward Sidney. No one was injured in either incident.

Anyone with information about these cases is encouraged to call State Police in Augusta at (207) 624-7076 and ask for Corporal Vance.
