Bangor Police worked with New Hampshire officials in connection with an investigation into the assault of a child. As a result, a NH man has been taken into custody.

Sergeant Tim Cotton said in a press release that Adam Morton, age 27 of Berlin, New Hampshire was arrested today with the assistance of the Berlin Police Department and charged with Aggravated Assault. He's accused of hurting a young child in Bangor on August 2nd. Cotton says a household appliance was used in the assault.

The investigation concluded on Wednesday after an interview with Morton in New Hampshire. It's expected that he will be extradited to Maine in the coming weeks.
