The inspiration for this post came from today's Google Doodle which celebrates what would have been the 85th birthday of Maurice Sendak, author of the children's book, "Where The Wild Things Are." I could have posted a trailer for the 2009 film. But I found this video with a unique narrator and thought it was more fun!

We all grew up knowing the iconic creatures from this wonderful book! They feed our imagination and remind us what it was like to be a kid, creating whole worlds in our head. And remind us that, no matter how angry we get at our parents, home is still the best place to be.

Now, imagine this book read by someone who tends to live in his own world...all the time! Christopher Walken reads this children's favorite in this video. And remember, much of the book is illustrations, so Chris does the best he can to describe what he sees. The result is, at times, hilarious! Just a word of warning....this is an adult reading of the book. Don't play this for your kids! Unless you want them to start referring to the monsters as...well...just don't play it for the kids!
