At one point, Mary Chapin Carpenter was to perform four shows in Maine. All of them were scrapped due to COVID-19. A night in Portland is back on her tour schedule.

Concerts are starting to return, with venues aggressively booking shows. Mary Chapin Carpenter will return to Maine for a show at the State Theatre in Portland. The show is set for September 29. Tickets go on-sale Friday, June 18.

Marc Cohn and Shawn Colvin will open the show.

The "Passionate Kisses" singer had four 2020 tour dates in Maine, prior to COVID-19. She was to open for Sugarland in Bangor last summer, then embark on solo dates. Her original date in Portland was canceled, and tickets were refunded. Her shows at Stone Mountain Arts Center were also scrapped.

More country shows are coming up in the big city. Most recently, Brett Young announced he will hit the road in September. Young's 33-date The Weekends Tour will stop in Portland at Thompson's Point, September 18. Tickets are on-sale now. Maddie & Tae and Filmore will open the show.

Young performed in Maine for the first time back in 2018. He opened for Thomas Rhett in Bangor back in 2018.
