WalletHub is a finance website that churns out stacks of niche studies on state-by-state economics. According to their study, Maine has the worst rankings in starting salary for doctors, projected physicians per capita and malpractice payouts per capita.

The states worse than Maine for Doctors to work in were New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Oregon. The best states for doctors are South Carolina, Minnesota, and Texas.

They have created a map showing their results and they break it down by best and worst by category. View the map here.
