Stonewall Kitchen has issued a limited recall on some varieties of its Pancake & Waffle Mix.

The recall was issued after the FDA found traces of Salmonella at the manufacturing facility of the supplier for the powdered buttermilk used in the products.  Company officials say no pathogenic bacteria has been found in the powdered products supplied to Stonewall Kitchen by the ingredient manufacturer, nor in any of the Stonewall Kitchen Pancake & Waffle mixes themselves, but they've decided to err on the side of caution.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
