Two men were quickly arrested Wednesday after a robbery at a Lewiston credit union.

Police responded to the robbery at the Rainbow Credit Union on Main Street at about 3:30 p.m., according to a report from the Sun Journal.

Within minutes, police tracked the suspects to a home on Wakefield Street.

According to the report, it appeared that a stand-off would ensue, but police arrested the men just before 4 p.m. and took them to the Androscoggin County Jail.

Jess Paquette said she had just arrived at the State Farm office down the street when police responded to the credit union.

"The police told us to stay inside," she said. "They were out there with tasers and long guns, all of that. You know it's serious when the long guns come out."

The names of the suspects were not immediately available.
