People are invited to bring kitten supplies to the Orrington Public Library and meet some purr-fectly cute kittens Friday night.

Where and When is This Happening?

If you love kittens, the Orrington Public Library is the place to be Friday night from 5 to 7 p.m. The Pixel Fund will have several adorable kittens that are up for adoption. And they'll be collecting donations of much-needed items for the kittens in their care.

What Types of Donations Are They Hoping to Receive?

Items needed by the Pixel Fund include:

  • Dewormer (Safeguard, Pyrantel)
  • Oral Flea Treatment (Capstar)
  • Topical Flea Prevention (Cheristin)
  • Kitten/Cat breakaway collars
  • Trash bags/Paper towels
  • Gift cards to purchase items
  • KMR Kitten formula
  • Moist and dry IAMS kitten food
  • Purina One dry cat food
  • Fancy Feast canned kitten/cat food
  • Food and water bowls
  • Canned Blue Buffalo kitten food
  • Miracle nipple
  • Fabric Enclosures
  • Cat treats
  • Meat baby food in a jar
  • Cat toys
  • Old towels/sheets
  • Clumping unscented cat litter, boxes, and scoops
  • Dawn blue dish soap, Clorox wipes, Lysol wipes

The Orrington Public Library is located in the Center Drive School, 17 School Street in Orrington, which is off Center Drive. Take note of the 'gift card' option on that list. If you don't want to be bothered to shop for kitten stuff, a gift card to Walmart or Hannaford, or even Amazon would work out great.

What is the Pixel Fund?

As I mentioned earlier, it's all to benefit the Pixel Fund Pet Rescue, which operates out of Southern Maine, with satellite offices in Florida and Georgia. The group's mission is to pull pets from kill shelters and find forever homes for them, including the super sweet kittens that will be in Orrington. I'll be there for part of the evening, taking some pictures of the event. I hope you'll stop by with a donation and snuggle some kitties. What a great way to start the weekend.
