National Love Your Pet Day

February 20th is National Love Your Pet Day. At my house, that's everyday, but hey, I'll show them a little extra love today...if that's possible! I even put together a quick video of the two dogs who share our house - Pernicus and Lola.

Dogs that live in our house are super-spoiled. They're allowed to lay on the furniture, get treats throughout the day, and sleep with us. Communication is big in our house, and Pernicus is a master communicator. If there's something on the coffee table that he wants to eat, he'll whine. And when I ask what he wants, his little head turns until his nose is practically touching the box of treats. Two and half years old, half Jack Russell, half Chocolate Lab, Pernicus is full of energy and jumps all over the place! But, at other times, he's super snuggly and loves to cuddle up. Can you tell I love him?

Then there's Lola. She's Jim's brother's dog and stays with us from time to time. She's an 11-year-old Golden Retriever who definitely doesn't act her age. A huge lover of snow, she'll often stay outside until we tell her to come in. Lola also loves rocks and, when she's sitting in the snow in this video, she's actually digging for a rock. She found one too! The floor in our house is dotted with Lola's pet rocks. I usually find them first thing in the morning...with my bare feet.
