Harrington Man Charged With Manslaughter In Drug Overdose Death

A Harrington man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with the drug overdose death of a Cherryfield man.

Eric Fletcher, 37, was arrested on Wednesday, the Ellsworth Police Department said in a news release. He also was charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs.

Fletcher is accused of selling heroin to Brendon Bubar, 28, who died of a drug overdose in an Ellsworth motel room in March.

Police say drug agents were able to develop a strong case against Fletcher using information and evidence collected at Bubar’s motel room.

Fletcher was taken to the Hancock County Jail. No date has been set for his initial court appearance.
