More details have been revealed about a stabbing in Hampden, including that the victim was allegedly attacked by his girlfriend while he slept.

The BDN reports 38-year-old Sonya Dupray told investigators that she and the victim had fought Friday night over his erratic driving. She allegedly told police that she used a butcher knife from the kitchen to slit her sleeping boyfriend's throat.

Police were called to the Maine Road North apartment at around 9:45 Friday night and the knife was found on the ground, outside the building. The 43-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital where, at last report, he was in critical condition.

Dupray is charged with attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault, and aggravated assault. She appeared in court by video conference on Tuesday from the Penobscot County Jail, but was not asked to enter a plea because she has not yet been indicted by a grand jury. That should happen next week.

Bail is set at $75,000. If convicted of either of the two more serious charges, Dupray could spend up to 30 years in prison.
