Governor Paul LePage has ordered all flags to half-staff out of respect for the victims of a mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub.

50 people died and at least 53 were wounded Saturday when 29-year-old Omar Mateen entered the gay nightclub known as 'Pulse" and opened fire. Mateen was killed in a standoff with police.

LePage expressed his sadness for the families and loved ones of the victims of the attack. "Ann and I send our condolences and pray for the safety and recovery of all those affected by this unspeakable tragedy."

He has ordered all Maine and American flags flown at half-staff, starting immediately until sunset on Thursday, June 16th.
