Crews worked to extinguish wildfires Friday in Waldo and Penobscot Counties.

A wildfire near Half Moon Pond in Waldo County was spotted around noon by a Maine Forest Service helicopter crew.

It was estimated that it had burned up to 20 acres of land, and crews were still battling the blaze Friday evening.

Maine forest rangers and firefighters from surrounding towns were working to extinguish the flames.

Firefighters in Bradford responded around 11 a.m. to a wildfire that damaged a home on Amigo Drive.

"They made a quick knockdown and then the fire spread into the woods and started to attack the house,” Fire Chief Dusty Kelley told WABI.

Both fires remain under investigation.
