Gardiner Shooting Suspect Caught

A suspect on the run from police following a shooting in Maine is caught in Massachusetts.

Acting Director of Security with the Maine Department of Corrections, Dwight Fowles, says 30 year old Paul Coyne was arrested early this morning by Massachusetts State Police.

Death of Prison Inmate Under Investigation

A prison inmate is dead and the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.

Stephen Ray Gravel, age 53, had served approximately 5 years of a 16 year sentence for gross sexual assault, according to a press release received this morning from the Maine Department of Corrections.

After six state police cruisers were hit by other motorists in the past six weeks, police are beefing up enforcement of the state's "Move over" law. The statute requires motorists to slow down and give law enforcement personnel room, while they are stopped along the highway, with their emergency lights engaged.The law says motorists should move into the adjacent lane, if there's room.
