Bangor Police Warn of Purse Thefts

Bangor police are warning of a rash of purse thefts from women shopping in area stores.

Police say the thieves are quick, taking the bags from shopping carts when women walk away for a moment or two to browse. Ladies are being advised not to leave their purses/pocketbooks unattended even for a moment.

Police are investigating, which includes reviewing video surveillance dating back to the first of December. In the meantime, they ask that women be very cautious.
