Manna Ministries will not be closing its doors this weekend. WABI-TV5 reports that Manna has collected the $18,000 it needed to stay open.

Executive Director Bill Rae tells WABI, “I am going to thank this community with every fiber of my being. They believe in Manna. They believe in their neighbors and they believe in keeping this place going.”

According to Rae, a drop in donations have hurt the organization. He says Manna typically collects between $70,000 and $80,000 in donations between Thanksgiving and Christmas. But over this past holiday season, the group collected just $53,000.

The organization provides a soup kitchen, food pantry, mental health services and drug rehab.
