Cindy Campbell

I’m the real deal when you’re talking about hometown girls. I was born in Brewer and have lived in the area all my life. Growing up with two older brothers and raising three sons ensured that I’m not exactly what you’d call a girly-girl. While I do love shopping, I’d much rather be at a football game! Walking in the woods with dogs, watching hockey, or riding snowmobiles are all things I love. Actually, dogs are kind of an obsession. My boyfriend Jim and I have a sweet Jack Russell/Chocolate Lab mix named Copernicus and we’re planning to add another furry friend soon. I’m also an avid treasure hunter and love to spend an afternoon with my metal detector. Movies are a big obsession for me and my guy, everything from chick flicks to action/adventure. And reading! There’s nothing better than getting lost in a book. I always have one nearby. It goes without saying that music is a passion! I played piano and flute in school and now love spending my summers at concerts. Join me weekdays from 9am to 2pm for great music and lots of fun! The 90’s at 9 has awesome music from a great era in country…and Cindy’s Roadhouse from noon to 1 is when I play your requests!

Unity College Bear Study

And they're asking for folks who live in a specific part of the state to report any sightings they may have. It sounds like an interesting project, that will include attaching a bear cam to one of the animals!

Dancing Like The Stars This Saturday

I have great respect for our own Dorian Daniels because she's taking part in this year's Susan G. Komen Dancing Like the Stars event coming up this Saturday. Brave woman! And she's doing great! But she needs our support, so won't you consider contributing to the Komen for the Cure, which supports women with breast cancer? It's easy!

Dorian does afternoons on one of our sister stations, but you've heard her on our station, helping us out with the news

Spread the Word to End the Word

Students at my alma mater are being asked today to sign a very special poster and take a pledge. The goal is to replace the term "mental retardation" with "intellectual disability." It's all part of a national campaign sponsored by Special Olympics and Best Buddies. Nice going, Brewer High Students!
