An Augusta couple charged with killing a local man last November pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges on Tuesday.

27-year-old Zina Fritz and 45-year-old Michael Sean McQuade appeared in separate arraignments at the Capital Judicial Center.

They’re accused of killing 31-year-old Joseph Marceau of Augusta in what police describe as a “drug related” incident.

Marceau's body was discovered after police responded to reports of a disturbance at the couple's apartment on Nov. 23.

A third suspect is also facing a murder charge in connection with the killing. 25-year-old Damik Davis of New York City was arrested the day police responded to the couple's apartment.

Fritz and McQuade were ordered held without bail. The two suspects waived bail hearings until a later date.
