The 90's at Nine Online today features the music of Chely Wright with 'Single White Female.' Chely walked a fine line in the 1990's, bringing sexy back to the female country singer image without baring her belly button like Shania and so many others. She's glamming it up 90's style big time in this video with her super-bright make-up!

Chely brought us her debut album in 1994 and it was so successful that she was named the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist in 1995! She didn't get her first Top 50 country hit until 1997 with 'Shut Up and Drive.' Two years later, 'Single White Female' went to number one.

In 2010, Wright became the first country artist to come out as gay and a year later she was featured in a documentary entitled 'Wish Me Away.' (Check out the trailer below) I've seen the film and it's an interesting look behind the scenes at country music and the expectations put on female artists. If you're interested in seeing it, you can find it on Netflix!
