Buying a house is kinda fun, if not maddening.

My wife and I bought our first house the same year we got married. It was a total crap show. Since then we've advised friends never to get married and buy a house in the same year. Mostly because choosing paint colors will almost assuredly be grounds for potential divorce. I've never argued like that before, hahaha.

Since then, we're on house #3. Our second house came when we moved back to the Bangor area from Westbrook. Right before the pandemic, we moved out to our current house in Hampden. Which was nice, because we got it for pre-pandemic prices. I can't even imagine what it might be worth right now.

If you're looking, these are absolutely killer deals.

Despite being well settled into our home, I constantly look on Zillow.com and Realtor.com just to see what's out there. Simple curiosity. That's all. Today, I happened to notice that you could buy BOTH of the least expensive homes in Bangor, and still be under $100,000. There are two killer spots in Birch Hill Estates.

One is listed for $50,000 on A Street. It's two bedrooms, baths, a big living room, and an eat-in kitchen. The other is nearby in the same neighborhood over on K Street. Pretty similar setup, although that one's listed at $40,000. And for the money, both are totally awesome. Someone would be psyched to own either one.

I scoped these photos over at Realtor.com, and was totally surprised. Most homes in this range look like the photos should all be over at the Abandonment Maine page on Facebook, but these two are the exact opposite. You could move right in and just set your stuff down. Trust me... That's the way to go...
