Woman Suffers Severe Injuries In Moose Collision On Interstate
A Fort Kent woman is in critical condition after her car struck a moose on Interstate 95 north of Old Town early Saturday morning.
Maya Linnell, 23, of Fort Kent is being treated for severe head injuries at Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was flown by helicopter after the crash, police said Monday morning.
Police said Linnell was headed north when her Honda Accord struck the bull moose just after 1:30 a.m. near the town of Howland. The impact tore the roof off the car, according to police.
Two other vehicles when struck the dead animal which was in the road. Occupants of the other vehicles had minor injuries.
