Members of the Tyler Healy Band stopped in the Q-106.5 studios on Friday to talk about their emergence onto the local country music scene, and to perform one of their original songs.

Lead singer and guitarist Tyler Healy and drummer Justin Young joined us in advance of their appearance at a Nashville themed party at the Sea Dog Brewing Company in Bangor to welcome home singer-songwriter Riff Johnson, who just returned from the country music capital.

The Tyler Healy Band, which hails from the East Corinth area, has only been together for about five months. Despite their newcomer status, the band has been in demand, playing a lot of local shows featuring originals as well as covers of current country hits from the likes of Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line.

"We're very excited about how fast it's taken off," said Healy, who performed the original "Don't Let Go" during his visit. You can give it a listen in the video above.

The Nashville Extravaganza starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 20 at the Sea Dog Brewing Company on Front Street in Bangor.
