If you are a resident of the Bangor area, Tri-City Pizza is just a way of life, that follows you wherever you may go. In fact, I have a friend who lives in Arizona, who is currently in town visiting for the first time in three years, and swear to god, he posted that as soon as he got off the plane, his first stop was to grab a Tri-Pie. That is how much this legendary business means to so many people.

The news recently dropped that the R.H Foster Energy, the owner of Freshies Delis, will be the new owners of the building, which has been serving up pizza for more than 50 years on Broadway in Bangor.

Luckily, we can all take a deep breath and relax, because they have stated that they don’t plan to change the day-to-day operations one bit. Hopefully, that includes the irresistibly catchy jingle.

Did you know that the Tri-City Pizza song was created by someone who works right here at Townsquare Media? Our production god, Thom Osborne, wrote and sang this piece of ear candy that has been used in TV and radio commercials for years. It is so popular that back in 2010, they had a contest, where people make their own ad to lip-sync to, with a chance to win two large pizzas every week for a year and have the commercial is shown on TV.
