One of the highlights to come out of the creative holiday lights displays that communities were putting together (in an attempt to safely social distance as the pandemic was in full swing) last year, was the Stillwater River Walk in Orono.

And I'm happy to report that it's back again, for a second year, and it's totally worth a ride into Orono.

Located along the edge of Browns Beach, with parking and access to the trail right off the Bennoch Rd., this walk spans hundreds of feet of decorated features.

The kids and I went last year, and they had multiple areas set up for great holiday photo-ops.

They've added some new features this year and they don't disappoint.

What I like most about this particular way to view holiday lights is that you can actually go on a little mini-adventure, while getting out of your vehicle, and see some pretty cool sights.

My only recommendation would be to watch your step if it's been wet out for a while.

And it's not a bad idea to bring along a flashlight so you can see your way back and forth from your vehicle to the path.

The display usually stays up till after Christmas, so if you're not able to make it right away, you have some time. But make sure you put it on your holiday to-do list when it comes to checking out lights because it really is a fun way to get into the holiday spirit, while getting out for a little exercise, as well.
