Actress Susan Sarandon spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Maine, stumping for democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Sarandon, who is known for her roles in films like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Thelma and Louise," made appearances in Cumberland County, The County and everywhere in between.

On Tuesday, the 69-year-old Sarandon visited Bowdoin College in Brunswick, the University of Maine in Orono, Becky's Diner in Portland and Paddy Murphy's in Bangor.

The actress spent Wednesday making appearances in Houlton and Colby College and the Boys and Girls Club in Waterville.

Sarandon grew up in Edison, New Jersey but has several ties to Maine. She owns a home on Mount Desert Island and her father was a year-round resident of Maine when he passed away in 1999.
