King took to social media on Sunday, sharing a post that wrongly claimed President Trump said he wouldn’t invite this year’s World Series champions to the White House.
In the post, King criticized Trump, saying he was letting ‘petty political concerns’ get in the way of the American pastime.

The platform added a note under King’s post, clarifying that the claim came from a fake screenshot.
Fact-checkers and the White House confirmed that Trump never made such a post, and the image actually originated from a satire account.
Hours later, King fired back at a comment accusing him of falling for fake news on social media.
King said he doesn’t believe Trump will invite either World Series team to the White House, and if it happens, he’d be shocked.
