Two Maine breweries are working on beers with a different type of buzz.

Bangor-based Sea Dog Brewing Company has teamed up with a Scarborough company, Novel Beverage, for a limited run of beers infused with cannabis. The popular beer "Blue Paw" wheat ale will feature a buzz solely from THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Another company lending beer to line is Shipyard Brewing in Portland. Their popular seasonal beer "Pumpkinhead" will also be infused with THC.

According to Shipyard Brewing, the brews are alcohol free and won't taste like you're sipping on a pot leaf. Using a process known as “nanoemulsification,” the effect of the beverages kicks-in in about 15 or 20 minutes. With 5mg per-beer, the buzz lasts about 2 hours.

The bottles will be available at recreational marijuana shops around the state March 4. Brothers Cannabis in Bangor is listed as a shop that will have the brews.
