Professional Bull Riders Returning To Bangor This Weekend
A big weekend of bull riding is returning to Bangor.
Once again the Cross Insurance Center will host Professional Bull Riders' Bangor Classic. The Bangor event is going into its 7th straight year. The three nights of white-knuckle action is set for March 11, 12, and 13. Tickets are on sale now.
PBR was last in Bangor back in July. The 2021 Bangor Classic was the first fan attended PBR event since the COVID-19 pandemic took in-person events off the road for over 16 months. Coincidentally, the 2020 Bangor Classic was the last big in-person event in Bangor before concerts, festivals and fairs were scrapped for over a year.
Victorious in the end was PBR's Michael Lane of Tazwell, Virginia. Lane went 0-2 Friday and Saturday and needed perfect rides Sunday to make anything of the weekend. Round 3 Sunday had the rider taking on bucking bull "Makavelli" for a full 8-second ride. The 83.5 point ride cracked Lane into the top 5 for the championship round. After another incredible ride on "Pneu-Dart's Coal Miner," good for an 89.5 point ride, Lane secured his second win on the Velocity Tour.

Lane's win scored the rider 39 world points and a $7,668.38 check.
