Police have identified the body found in the trunk of a car Friday as that of a 30-year-old Pittsfield woman.

The body is that of Jenna French, according to police. The car belonged to French, police said in a Saturday news release.

Police say there is no indication of foul play as they await the outcome of an autopsy.

An autopsy began Saturday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta, which plans additional testing before determining the cause of death.

French was last seen on Tuesday, and her grandmother reported her missing to Pittsfield Police on Thursday.

Her car was located by relatives in the parking lot of the Walmart in Palmyra on Friday morning. The car was towed to Varney Chevrolet in Pittsfield because relatives had no keys to the vehicle.

A mechanic found the body while working on the Chevy Malibu.
