Police Find Drugs ‘Disturbingly Accessible’ to Kids in Bangor Apartment
Two people face drug charges after authorities on Wednesday searched a Kenduskeag Avenue apartment and found suspected fentanyl in the kitchen.
Taleek McFadden, 32, and Cassandra Means, 33, each faces a Class A charge of aggravated trafficking in fentanyl following a four-month investigation.
On Wednesday, MDEA agents and Bangor police officers served a search warrant at the Bangor apartment and found McFadden, Means, and two minor children, ages 9 and 5. Police also found about 300 grams of suspected fentanyl, "in an area of the kitchen that was disturbingly accessible to the minor children."
Police also found more than $21,000 in suspected proceeds from drug sales.
Both McFadden and Means were taken to Penobscot County Jail, from which they were released on $25,000 and $50,000 cash bail, respectively.
The two children were turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services.
