Police have arrested one man in connection with a shooting in Presque Isle. A second suspect remains at large.

Jomo White, 31, of Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested Tuesday morning in Presque Isle after he was located at a local residence. White was arrested without incident, according to police.

Police still are searching for a second man -- Jason Alexander, 44, of Blaine -- in connection with the shooting. He is described as a white male, 5’9, 220, brown hair, blue eyes. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

The incident was reported just before 6 a.m. Monday, when the victim called 911 to report he'd been shot on Northern Road. Officers administered first aid until Presque Isle Fire and Ambulance arrived. The victim was taken to A.R. Gould hospital, where he underwent surgery before being taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. At last report, the man remained in critical condition.

Anyone with information on a location on Alexander is asked to call Presque Isle Police Dept. at 764-4476, Maine State Police at 532-5400 or Aroostook Crimestoppers at (800) 638-8477.

A tip that leads to locating and the arrest of Alexander will be eligible for a $500 reward.
Police say anyone found to have assisted Alexander in evading arrest will be subject to prosecution.
