Maine State Police have asked that people planning to attend Tuesday's funeral for Detective Ben Campbell park their vehicles at the Maine Mall.

The funeral will start at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland. Since the arena is located downtown, other parking arrangements had to be made, other than just looking for street parking. So the Maine State Police have set up shuttle services for the day.

Members of the public wishing to pay their respects and attend the funeral are asked to park at the Maine Mall parking lot, 380 Gorham Road in South Portland. The reserved portion of the lot will have law enforcement emergency vehicles displaying emergency lights around the reserved area, so it will be easy to spot. There will be law enforcement personnel on hand to direct people where to park. A shuttle service for the public will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 10:00 a.m. Uniformed Law Enforcement personnel will be shuttled to the venue starting at 7:30 a.m. The venue opens at 10:00 a.m. and the Law Enforcement Tribute will begin at 11.

After the ceremony, members of the public should make the short walk to the Portland Fish Pier (1 Portland Fish Pier), at the intersection of Center Street and Commercial Street, where they will be directed to the appropriate bus back to the parking area. More information can be found on the event's website.
