Old Town Mother Charged in Death of 3-year-old Daughter
A woman from Old Town, Maine is charged with manslaughter in the death of her 3-year-old daughter.
Hillary Goding, 28, was arrested Sunday in Lincoln and taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.
The arrest came after authorities responded to to 149 Center Street in Old Town at approximately 10:48 p.m. on Friday. Goding had called 911 to report that her daughter was unresponsive and not breathing.
The child was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor where she was pronounced dead on Sunday.
An autopsy was performed on Sunday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. The results are not being released at this time.
Goding was scheduled to make her first court appearance Monday at 1 p.m. at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor.
Manslaughter is a Class A crime in Maine punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
