The average candy snatching parent eats about one quarter of their Halloween haul

And 86% of those surveyed admitted they eat at least some of their kid's candy. Even adults without any kids admit they buy a lot more candy than they will hand out so they'll have some to eat for themselves. And over a third of adults said they enjoy Halloween more as an adult than they did as a child, because there's no limit on the amount of candy they can eat.
