Bangor Man Who Was Missing Found Under Clifton Bluff

A Bangor man who had been reported missing was found deceased at the bottom of a cliff.

The Penobscot Regional Communications Center received information at approximately 12:30 Friday afternoon of a Bangor man who was missing. A family member had located the man's vehicle in the area of Eagle Bluff on Route 180 in Clifton.

What Do We Know About the Deceased?

Deputies responded to the scene, including a drone team. The drone pilot found what appeared to be a person at the bottom of the mountain cliff. Game Wardens made their way to the area identified by the drone pilot and located a man who was confirmed to be deceased. The man's name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Members of Eddington Fire and Rescue hiked into the area and brought the man's body out to Route 180. Officials say the trails and rock cliffs were still snow and ice covered in most spots.

This incident remains under investigation.
