A Massachusetts man faces multiple charges after allegedly trying to kidnap a Lewiston child from their bed.

It's every parent's nightmare. As the family slept in their apartment on Wood Street in Lewiston, a man broke into their home and allegedly tried to kidnap their 7-year-old child. The details of why the attempt failed have not been released, but the man was unsuccessful in his abduction attempt and left the scene. Police say the suspect was not known to the child or the parents. Luckily, the child was not hurt.
