A convicted felon from Massachusetts is in custody in Maine after police seized fentanyl and a firearm during a traffic stop.

State Police say, on Tuesday, 38-year-old Sean Anderson's vehicle was stopped on the Maine turnpike in Ogunquit at approximately 9 p.m. for several motor vehicle violations. A roadside investigation prompted police to search the vehicle, which resulted in the seizure of 12 grams of fentanyl, $10,600 in cash, and a loaded 9 mm handgun.

The Lynn, Massachusetts man is a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms, and is currently on probation in his home state for an armed robbery and home invasion. Anderson was transported to the York County Jail and charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. Bail was set at $15,000. State Police say a charge of criminal speed was requested to be added, as well.
