Veteran’s Day is Coming – Here’s Something Kind to Do for 2 Maine Veterans
Looking for something nice (and easy) you can do for someone, and it’ll make you feel nice too?
When we come together as a community, we are all better for it. Whether it is in person events, or just a sense of community that comes from small random acts of kindness that make for a better general feeling. For the receiver, and the giver.
Reminder. Veterans Day is coming up next week.
To combine the sense of community we feel when we do some good deed and Veteran’s Day. Here is something that you can do.
First, it will cost you a birthday card and a stamp.
Maybe you can save on the cost of the birthday store bought card, and have your kids do a random act of kindness but making a homemade card that is Veteran related.
Two Miane veterans are having birthdays in the month of November.
They are Ed Hendrickson of Bangor and Paul Chapman of South Thomaston.
Army / Air Corps veteran Paul Chapman turns 104 years old on November 12th.
Navy veteran Ed Hendrickson is turning 103 on November 14th.
So don’t put this off, act now.
Bet you know what mail call meant to a veteran when they were serving their time for our country. A letter from home, with news about family and friends and their hometowns.
This will mean a lot to both veterans.
If we simply send them a card with a thank you and a hello it is bound to help them celebrate their birthdays.
Here are their addresses.
Paul Chapman, 486 St. George Road, South Thomaston, ME 04858
Ed Hendrickson, 932 Ohio St., #246, Bangor, ME 04401
Think about their gratitude when they open up card after card on their birthdays. That is as good as the cake will be.
Thank you all for your service and sense of community.
