
Maine School District Closed Due to a Tragic Death
Students in one Maine school district are dealing with something more than bad weather after a member of their community died.
Maine School District is Closed on Monday Due to a Tragic Death in Waterville
Waterville Police have identified the deceased as Michelle Bruce, 37, of Madison, who the Morning Sentinel reports was an administrative assistant at Madison Elementary School.
Ms. Bruce was putting gas in her vehicle at the Big Apple store on Main Street in Waterville on Sunday when she was struck by a vehicle in the course of a chain reaction crash.
Police say she died at the scene.

In Madison, the community is mourning Bruce's death, who they say was a member of their school community.
MSAD 59 School Superintendent Ryan Arnold released the following statement:
We are deeply saddened by the loss of a valued member of our school district family. Our thoughts and condolences to out to the family , friends, and colleagues of the deceased. We appreciate your respect for the family's privacy during this period.
Arnold went on to say that support and resources will be provided to their students and staff during this difficult time.
Madison, Maine, School Administrators are Providing Counselors in Wake of Tragedy
School officials say counselors will be available at Madison Elementary School on Monday until 3 pm. The storm may affect that, so folks are advised to call 696-4607 before they head out, to make sure the counselors are still there.
