Maine has more to offer than just “Vacationland” memories - we’re truly "The Way Life Should Be."

Let's be real, finding your own place to hang your hat can be as tricky as navigating a corn maze from Treworgy Family Orchards. With factors like the cost of living and job opportunities, the quality of education and safety, and your own personal quirks entering the equation, it's not easy.

WalletHub has dished out its verdict by crunching numbers from 51 key indicators of livability. From housing costs to hospital quality, they've covered it all, stacking up the states across five dimensions: Affordability, Economy, Education & Health, Quality of Life, and Safety.

The top 5 best states to live in for 2023, according to the report, are Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, and Wyoming. That's a whole lot of "New.”

Now, let's talk about our Pine Tree State. It may not have clinched the top spot, but it's riding high in twelfth place overall, displaying notable strengths in the Economy as well as the Education & Health domains. Not too shabby! Furthermore, Maine boasts the second-highest rate of home ownership, surpassed only by West Virginia.

But wait, there's more! Maine also tied for third place when it comes to the percentage of folks aged 25 and above rocking a High School Diploma or something fancier.

Additionally, Maine holds the crown for the lowest crime rate. Yep, you read that right. The state that's home to lobster traps and Moose hunting also holds the title for the fewest violent crimes per 1,000 residents. It's like living in a real-life cozy mystery novel where everyone's too busy eating chowder to even think about crime.

Again, we’re “The Way Life Should Be!”
