Maine Is the Only New England State With This Fast Food Chain
This popular fast food chain has nearly 6,000 locations around the world, yet Maine is the only state in our region with at least one.
We’re so used to things being in other states and not here in Maine that missing out has kind of become the norm. But when the roles are reversed and we’re the ones with something others don’t have, it feels pretty special—almost like we’re in on a secret.
So, given all of that, how do we know for sure that Maine is the only state in all of New England with this chain? Did we drive around New England ourselves and check?
Well, actually—kind of. We were down in Connecticut recently and got curious about where the closest location of this chain was, and after some searching (and a quick check on their website), we were surprised to find out that there aren’t any in Connecticut—or in any other New England state besides Maine.

Now that we've addressed that, which popular fast food chain doesn’t have any locations in New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Massachusetts—but does have a few here in Maine?
According to Tim Hortons’ website, which lets you track all of their nearly 700 U.S. locations, the chain can only be found in 13 states. Of those, just one is in New England—Maine.

You can see exactly where Tim Hortons locations are in our state by checking out the location tracker on their website.
Here in Maine, we’ve got seven total—two in Bangor, and one each in Brewer, Madawaska, Houlton, Caribou, and Presque Isle.
And there you have it: Tim Hortons, which has seven locations here in Maine, can’t be found anywhere else in New England.
Does this surprise you at all? What are your thoughts on Tim Hortons? We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
