A Maine man was arrested in New Jersey after allegedly running over a carjacking victim in Massachusetts.
Maine Man Faces Multiple Charges Including Aggravated Assault on Police
Dustin Zimmerman, 32, of Livermore Falls, Maine faces multiple charges after a traffic stop and arrest in Robbinsville Township, New Jersey, including reckless driving, eluding, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and receiving stolen property. His arrest was the end of an alleged crime spree initiated in Maine.
NJ Police Say the Maine Man Allegedly Dragged the Victim of a MA Car Jacking
The incident began in Reading, Massachusetts, when police learned that a vehicle had been stolen shortly after 6:30 Saturday evening from a person who was pumping gas. Reading Police say the victim was standing on the passenger side of his Range Rover Sport when Zimmerman pulled up to another pump in a Chevy Malibu.
The Malibu had reportedly been stolen out of Maine.

Zimmerman allegedly left the Chevrolet and got into the Range Rover's driver's seat, did a U-turn in the gas station parking lot and partially ran over the victim while driving away. Police say the 49-year-old victim held onto the Range Rover's mirror as the suspect drove away and was dragged for about 20 feet.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Maine Man Allegedly Had to Be Pepper-Sprayed in New Jersey During His Arrest
Zimmerman didn't encounter police again until he arrived in Robbinsville Township, New Jersey. A police officer followed the Range Rover into a convenience store parking lot after allegedly watching the driver make an illegal turn at a red light. But when Zimmerman heard the officer call for backup, he took off, nearly hitting the police cruiser.
He was arrested after running his vehicle into a field, in front of another police cruiser. When the police tried to take Zimmerman into custody, he allegedly fought them, allegedly kicking and head-butting the officers, prompting them to spray him with pepper spray.
Zimmerman was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
