Thadius Wind Has Been in the Maine News Several Times in Recent Years

Wind has been in the news in Maine several times before, including a standoff in Old Town in 2021 in which he allegedly wielded a samurai sword. The resulting standoff lasted 18 hours before police were able to take Mr. Wind into custody.

A year later, the Penobscot Regional Communications Center received information that a woman had allegedly been assaulted by her fiance, Thadius Wind. He was taken into custody as he walked into his driveway, apparently unaware that law enforcement was there.

Several months later, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office was involved in a four hour standoff with Wind that began with the attempt to serve a domestic violence protection order at his Eddington home.

All individuals are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
