A Maine man wanted by police for a homicide in Waldoboro has been arrested in Florida.

Maine Man Charged With Murder for Death of Waldoboro Woman

James Clark, 49, of Damariscotta, is charged with murder for the death of Levern Kelley of Waldoboro.

Waldoboro, Maine Woman Found Deceased in a Home on Genthner Road

Kelly's body was found on August 9, 2025, by Waldoboro Police Officers who were conducting a well-being check of a woman on Genthner Road. Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies were also present when Kelly was discovered, deceased.

An arrest warrant was obtained by Maine State Police Detectives for James Clark, charging him with murder. Officials learned that Clark had left Maine and travelled to Florida.

Damariscotta, Maine Man Arrested in Florida and Charged With Murder

Maine authorities worked with the Volusia, Florida, County Sheriff's Office on the investigation. On August 15, 2025, James Clark was arrested at the Red Carpet Inn in the South Daytona area.

Clark will be returned to Maine to face the murder charge.
