Maine Gas Prices Dip Below National Average

The average price for a gallon of gas in Maine dropped about 7.4 cents over the past week. That puts the current state average below the national average.

According to the gas price tracking website GasBuddy, the average price of regular gas in Maine was $2.37 on Monday. That's $1.24 lower than the state average this time a year ago.

The national average on Monday was $2.42.

GasBuddy says the cheapest gas in Bangor on Monday was $2.26 at the Sam's Club on Haskell Road.

The cheapest gas in the state was $2.16 at the Irving on Rt 1 in Wells.
