
Maine Farmer’s Markets Roll on Into Fall
We are so lucky in Maine to have so much fresh produce. It’s everywhere.
And you don’t have to travel far to get it. And it is great to support the local farmers.
Many communities hold Farmers Markets where the farmer brings the goods to you.
Here are a few Farmers Markets in Eastern Maine you might want to check out.
And these don’t include the local farms that are selling direct to you by you stopping by their farm. These are only the community held farmers markets that farmers attend to sell you their produce. And also baked goods and other items.
Bangor Farmers Market
Bangor hold their farmers market at the parking lot across from the Library at 140 Harlow Street on Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. They will continue November and then in December switch to 1st and 3rd Sundays from 11 to 1 until April.
Bar Harbor - Eden Farmer’s Market
Bar Harbor YMCA parking lot at 21 Park Street on Sunday mornings from 9 until Noon until the 19th of October
Belfast
Belfast holds year round Farmers Markets on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 18 Spring Street.
Blue Hill Farmers Market
Held at the Blue Hill Fair Grounds on Route 172 Saturdays 9 to 11:30 until October 28th.
Brewer
Brewer Auditorium at 318 Wilson Street is Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. thru the end of October and also on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Brooksville Farmer’s Market
Held at Brooksville Community Center at 11 Cornfield Hill Road Tuesday from 9:30 to Noon but they finish Mid-September so this or next week will be that final one for this year.
Bucksport Bay Farmers Market
Bucksport Farmers market is Thursdays from Noon to 3 pm until mid October and is held next to the Post Office at 99 Maine Street
Dover Foxcroft
Dover Cove Farmers’ Market is at 1049 West Main Street on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm until the end of October. They also offer a winter market the weekend before Thanksgiving through April every other Saturday and inside the Piscataquis County Ice Arena.
Eastport Farmers Market
Eastport Farmers Market is on Saturdays from 11 a.m. til 1 p.m. at the Port Authority parking lot at 141 Water Street until early October.
Ellsworth Farmers Market
Held at 190 Main Street, on Saturdays from 9:30 to 12:30 until November11th.
Hampden Farmers Market
Hampden Farmers Market is year-round and is held every Friday afternoon from 2 to 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot at St. Matthews Church at 106 Western Avenue.
Hermon
Hermon Farmers Market is on Route 2 and open Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. through October
Lincoln
Lincoln Farmers & Artisans’ Market takes place at Veteran’s Square at 75 Main Street every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Mid October.
Orono
Orono Farmers Market is on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until Noon in the Steam Plant parking lot until Thanksgiving. Also Tuesdays from 2 to 5:30 p.m. through October.
Southwest Harbor Farmers Market
Held on Main Street at the St John’s Church parking lot Fridays from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and through mid October.
Stonington Farmers Market
Stonington holds their farmers market at the Island Community Center Friday 10 am to Noon through September.
