
Lewiston Maine Police Make An Arrest For Child’s Shooting Death
A Lewiston man is facing charges for the fatal shooting of his stepson.
Maine Man Arrested After the Shooting Death of a 4-Year-Old Child
Robert McCoy, 35, of Lewiston, is charged with manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.
Mikayla Smith, 27, of Lewiston, was arrested on unrelated warrants.
Smith is the victim's mother, and McCoy is his stepfather.
Lewiston, Maine, Police are investigating the 4-year-old's Fatal Shooting
The Lewiston Police Department received a 911 call just before 5:00 on the morning of May 17th reporting a 4-year-old child had suffered a gunshot wound. Officers responded to 93 Pierce Street, as well as members of the Lewiston Fire Department and United Ambulance.

Jasper Smith, 4, of Lewiston was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:08 a.m.
His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
Maine Police Have Released Few Details About the Lewiston Child's Shooting
McCoy and Smith were arrested on Wednesday, June 18th, and transported to the Androscoggin County Jail.
No details have been released about how the shooting happened.
The investigation is ongoing.
