Maine Lawmakers Consider A Bill That Would Protect Beer Drinkers
The Maine House of Representatives on Thursday give initial approval to a bill that would require beers advertised as a pints to actually be served in a 16 ounce glass.
It's an effort to discourage establishments from advertising pints and actually selling beer served in a 14 ounce glass.
Some opponents say the measure may create a slippery slope. House Republican Leader Ken Fredette said lawmakers could next move on to a mandate that all steaks advertised as 6 ounces actually be 6 ounces.
The beer bill faces additional votes in the Senate and House.
