With the peak summer season in the rearview, most of the amusement parks throughout New England will be closing or moving on to special events around holidays.

Typically, amusement parks wrap up any quality season with a simple 'thank you' to patrons followed by a 'we'll see you in the spring'.

Funtown/Splashtown USA in Saco, Maine, has decided to try a different tactic this year. By teasing something new.

Splashtown in Saco, Maine, Will Be Getting Something New For The 2026 Season

Over the past several days, Funtown/Splashtown USA has taken to social media to tease a new attraction for next season.

Their initial post inspired some suggestions from enthusiastic fans. Everything from a blackout water slide to a lazy river to a full blown wave pool.

Since the initial post, Funtown/Splashtown USA added to the intrigue by posting additional photos and videos showing that whatever the project is, it's going to be substantial.

Funtown/Splashtown Has Been Tight Lipped About What The New Attraction Will Be

Despite a multitude of comments on social media and nearly 20,000 views on one video, Funtown/Splashtown remains tight lipped on what the new attraction will be.

It's a strategy that worked well for the amusement park a couple years ago when they debuted their first new ride at Funtown in two decades.

For months, Funtown/Splashtown USA teased something new by displaying construction photos and even some imagery that hinted at what could be next.

Eventually it was revealed to be the Haunted Hotel ride, which has been a hit since its debut.

We'll all know what Splashtown has planned for 2026 soon enough.
