Some of the most fun folks in Maine can have during the summer takes place at local, small-town festivals.
One spot that has really perfected the small-town festival in a big way is Lincoln, Maine.
Multiple times a year, the community in Lincoln gets together to "celebrate and have a good time" if you will.
Their big summer festival is the Lincoln Loon Festival. With a different theme each year, this multi-day event has fun for everyone!
According to the Lincoln Loon Festival Facebook Event Page, this year's celebration will take place Thursday, July 20th through Saturday, July 23rd.
"Lincoln's premier family-friendly summer festival, this 4-day event features live music, local food, artisans, a basketball tournament, a parade, fireworks over Mattanawcook Pond, and more. Get ready to travel back to the 80s because this year’s theme, Loons Just Wanna Have Fun."
With activities like hot-air balloon rides, a bounce house, a craft fair, a "Redneck Regatta", the 76th Annual River Driver's Supper, and their yearly Loon Festival Parade, Lincoln pulls out all the stops to offer an array of sights, smells, and sounds for people to take part in.
The events will take place in multiple locations, all over town and will kick off the morning of Thursday, July 20th.
We have a feeling, this year's 80s theme will be quite popular!
